I am attaching three poems-"Freeze," "Thaw," and "Melt"-for consideration in the next publication of XYZ Journal. After reading a number of pieces from the most recent issue (most notably "Drawn," by Megan Brown), I felt that my poetry would be a good fit for your journal in terms of lyrical style and themes of aging and family.
I received my MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Oregon and currently own a bookstore in Cleveland, OH. My previous work has been published in M Magazine, Poetry Online and Bold Creek Journal.
I have included an SASE for your response. The manuscript itself can be recycled if it is not chosen for publication. I have submitted these poems to several other publications as well, but I will notify you immediately if any of them are accepted. Thank you for your consideration.
