I would like to submit my application for the position of English teacher at ABC School in Madrid. I will be moving to Spain on October 1, and I am excited to put to use both my teaching experience and my language skills.
Over the last three years, I have been building an education skillset through Teach for America, which has allowed me to use my Spanish skills to improve my language proficiency. Having completed TESOL, spent a year abroad in Barcelona, and taught English as a Second Language to middle schoolers in Chicago, I believe that this position is the perfect fit for me.
I am aware that my fluency in Spanish is not as important as my ability to be a firm instructor, a helpful guide, and a mentor to students who will spend most of their time using English. However, I believe that being bilingual will help me give every student the right amount of help, encouragement, and discipline to become skilled in English.
