Thank you for your consideration. I have been a fan of XYZ Publication since I first picked up an issue at a Barnes and Noble in Minneapolis, MN, all the way back in 1992. It has inspired me to write stories with a feminist lens, and to present radical interpretations of femininity and gender expression. "A Shiny Goldfish for Peter" incorporates my research for my doctoral thesis on Gloria Steinem's life work.

Laurie Jones is an educator, poet, and author of four books of short stories, including Time in the Leaves (ABC Publication, 2009) and Heaven Below Us (DEF Publication, 2014). Her short stories and poems have been published in GHI Journal, JKL Publication, and MNO Magazine. She lives in Portland, OR, with her husband and dog.
